Carey has over twenty years experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist, the majority spent specialising in neuro-musculoskeletal injury. She has worked with military personnel and professional sportsmen, and has developed a keen interest in the diagnosis and management of sports injuries. Since 2004 Carey has worked in private practice in Bath, continuing to see sport related injuries as well as every day aches and pains in the more sedentary population.
Carey Whittaker has dealt with all my family over the years with unfailing tolerance, professionalism and brilliance. Carey does not just deal with the symptoms though she does that superbly, but looks behind them to the cause. Though the doctors and Consultant were convinced I had chronic Asthma, she was not certain and at her suggestion, of further investigation I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis. Also thanks to Carey, my knee damaged while skiing, was not operated on and within a month or so am back on the golf course and playing tennis. She is amazing!

Carey’s treatment is purely hands-on involving mobilisation and manipulation of stiff joints, massage and soft tissue release techniques for tight muscles, tendons and fascia.
Treatment is followed up with relevant postural exercises to help establish good joint alignment and proprioception (body awareness) exercises to improve dynamic control thereby helping to prevent re-injury. There is a strong emphasis on developing a self-management strategy where appropriate. She is a member of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP)
